The Outdoor Swimming Society - wild swimming in rivers, lakes, lidos and seas Summary The Outdoor Swimming Society is dedicated to increasing the number of people who experience the joy of swimming in England's lakes, lidos and rivers while raising money for charity.Whether floating downstream looking at clouds and cow parsley on a summers day, or striking out across a remote lake where you can see only heather and crags, swimming outdoors is one of life's true pleasures. The world looks brighter after an open air swim, as if, while you were out there, someone coloured it in.
As well as encouraging everyone to have a lovely time swimming, we also exist to raise money. This year the OSS are raising money for breast cancer research at Cancer Research UK with a series of Breastrokes swims supported by USA PRO. In future years we'll be raising money for all kinds of other good causes. Men and women are welcome at all swims - and whatever the event, we'll still be swimming in amazing places.
