Alliance Against Urban 4x4s Summary We believe that together we can all create a better,healthier and more evolved system of mobility in the 21st Century. We see 4x4s as the wrong (and a dead end) trajectory for where we need to be heading.The mission of the Alliance Against Urban 4x4s is to educate people about the environmental and social damage caused by the increasing numbers of urban 4x4s as well as promote sustainable forms of transport suitable for the 21st century.
We have been informing and uniting groups of concerned citizens across the United Kingdom, and internationally, against the growing trend of 4x4 vehicles in urban areas since 2003.
We lobby for increases in congestion charges, CO2 based parking charges and higher road taxes for large gas guzzlers, as well as fight for binding and meaningful CO2 targets for new car emissions in the EU and seek a ban on advertising of 4x4s in the mainstream media.
